Sony confirms PSN accounts hit 90 million worldwide
Vita launch contributed in reaching the new milestone.
Sony has revealed that account creation for PlayStation Network currently stands at 90 million IDs worldwide – that is the sum of all accounts mashed together across PS3, PSP and the Vita.
The latest figures disclosure was cited by manager of SCEA Developer Relations Ted Regulski during GDC earlier this week
Regulski, however, refrained from breaking down the number by region and platform, or affirming how many of these accounts are active. As most of you know, many PlayStation 3 owners create multiple PSN accounts to have access for content not available in their local PS Store.
Elsewhere, Regulski went on to say that Sony’s policies efforts result for “the only major console publisher to allow self-publishing. There are others but they have publishing rules that aren’t much fun … and there are no weird limits you have to hit in order for us to pay you.”
