Uncharted: Golden Abyss has 200ms of movement lag
Well, this explains the sluggish controls.
The Uncharted series always seem to get their controls in the ditch. There was this issue with Uncharted 3 which prompted Naugty Dog to implement an ‘alternate’ set of controls to appease player complaints. And now it seems the problem has crept up into PS Vita’s Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
If you have been noticing sluggish controls despite increasing sensitivity and auto aiming, Vita’s two analogue sticks are not entirely to be blamed. A YouTube user has put the game’s controls to test, slowing down frames to demonstrate the input lag of over 200ms between performing and executing commands during aiming.
Plodding through Golden Abyss, I, too, have noticed the horrendous lag making aiming extremely difficult against enemies who are always on the move. I have however, found the game’s gyroscope of much use, allowing slight adjustments to aiming by just moving the Vita. The gyroscope is turned on by default.
