Kotaku has landed on a promotional shot of Assassin’s Creed III, thanks to their sources inside Best Buy (of all places!). The shot features an Assassin donning an 18th-century military jacket, an axe, a shotgun (?), and a belt full of arrows. A Betsy Ross flag, America’s first official flag after independence, makes the backdrop.

If legitimate, it confirms previous rumors of the game based around the American Revolution. Ubisoft is expected to announce the game before the end of March, with a release coming some time this year.
