Job ad hints Limbo might be heading to iOS and Android
Danish studio seeking a programmer who specializes in porting games into mobile platforms.
Limbo developer Playdead is on the hunt for a programmer to port its games to new platforms. The studio says that experience in smartphone and browser development is a must.
“We have already released a game on X360, PS3, Windows, OSX and OnLive and we are continuously investigating other possible platforms,” says the job listing. “Your job is primarily porting to new platforms and secondarily maintaining current platforms.”
“We are currently investigating following new platforms; iOS, Win8, Android, NACL and other platforms could become relevant as well.”
Although there’s no official word regarding a mobile version of Limbo, the ad says “port our games”, and given that the Danish studio has only shipped one game thus far, seems that the only explanation to the job advert is a mobile port of the enchanting black and white platformer.
