Launched last Wednesday, the PlayStation Vita has been doing outstandingly well across the UAE. Our calls to multiple official Sony stores were returned with a “sold out” notice, a trend which continued at local retailer Geekay Games, who said they were out of the WiFi and 3G SKUs pretty quickly.

The PS Vita WiFi model, in particular, seems to be popular among players in the UAE, which, according to Geekay, was responsible for over 65% of the total sales of the handheld.

In terms of software, games like Little Deviants, Reality Fighters, Rayman Origins and Ride Racer were favorites, with FIFA Football dominating sales, as expected.

Hardware accessories sold well, too, with the screen protector, travel case and the 16GB memory cards topping the sales sheet.

The PS Vita is now out in stores. The WiFi version comes bundled with Uncharted: Golden Abyss and a 4GB memory card for AED 1399. The 3G version comes with Uncharted: Golden Abyss, a du sim card, and an 8GB memory card for AED 1799.
