Borderlands 2 release date announced, gets a ‘Doomsday’ trailer

2K has revealed the release date for Gearbox Software’s highly-anticipated FPS sequel, Borderlands 2. The game will hit US shelves on September 18, and everywhere else on September 21.
The publisher is also running a promotion offer for those who pre-order the role-playing loot ‘em up follow-up at participating retailers, allowing those who preserve a copy ahead of the game’s launch to gain access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club. This will let users to nab various in-game items such as the the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key and the Vault Hunter’s Relic. Details below.
- Gearbox Gun Pack: A Collection of unique guns to help players begin their journey on Pandora
- The Golden Key: In-game item utilized to access a rare item in the mysterious Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest.
- The Vault Hunter’s Pack: In-game item that boosts players’ gear-hunting fortune while playing solo, or teaming up with friends.
