Company Name: Quirkat
Location: United Arab Emirates

About:
Quirkat takes its name from an ancient board game that originated in the Middle East around 14,000 BC, and kept evolving into modern day checkers. This gives you an idea about the company’s mission, as their products explore the Middle East’s history and culture through the medium of video games.

Games:
The company’s game portfolio consists of Flash, downloadable and browser-based games exploring the modern and traditional in Middle Eastern culture. Such games include Moosiqar (Oud rhythm game), Mythic Palace (Arabic collectible card game), Arabian Lords (Strategy game), and their most recent project, Tawle (Backgammon), which brings the Middle East’s favorite board game, with its many playstyles, in video game form. All their games are playable at Fuzztak.com, or their Facebook portals.

Quirkat is currently working on revamping a version of EuroScorers, their fantasy football game on Facebook, which will contain new features and prizes. Furthermore, Quirkat will soon be undergoing their most ambitious project, which is developing a game for the Playstation Move, as announced by Sony at DWGE.

Company Name: Jawaker
Location: United Arab Emirates

About:
Arabs love their card games, and Jawaker (Arabic for ‘Jokers’) understands that. That’s why they have a large social gaming site dedicated exclusively to card games. Playing cards is a favorite Arabic social activity, and the marriage of card games and social gaming seems like a foregone conclusion, and Jawaker implements the two seamlessly.

Games:
Jawaker hosts 13 card games, including all the regional favorite games, from Tarneeb and Tricks to Hearts and Bloot. The company has also implemented a unique infrastructure wich allows them to create new games in a matter of days, which makes us look forward for further projects from the developer.

Jawaker also wins points for implementing a very simple and user friendly mechanism for joining in the games. You don’t need to install any software or make any payments. Simply register and play all the games available with your fellow card game lovers. Furthermore, users have the option of trying the website’s games before registering.
