Remedy today announced a February release window for the PC version of Alan Wake.

The game will not support the preposterous Games for Windows Live, as it is a self-published title, but will fully support Steam complete with all the bells and whistles that accompanies it (cloud sync, et all). It also won’t support Mac, but surprisingly, will maintain compatibility with the now defunct Windows XP.

Remedy also revealed the system requirements to run the horror-shooter, although they are subject to change:

  • OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • PROCESSOR: Dual core required: AMD: Athlon X2 2.8GHz; Intel: Core 2 Duo 2GHz
  • MEMORY: 2 GB
  • HARD DRIVE: 8 GB
  • VIDEO CARD: DirectX 10 compatible or later with 512MB RAM - AMD: ATI Radeon 3650, 4450, 5550, 6450 or higher (per series); NVIDIA: GeForce 8600GT, 9500GT, GT120, GT430, GT520 (per series)
  • SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c compatible
  • INPUT: Mouse and keyboard, Xbox360 controller also supported

It will also support NVIDIA’s Vision3D technology, although of course you will need a Godly setup to run it on a decent frame rate.

Remedy has a nice little FAQ setup here, so do check that out for further questions.

About

I like cake. I also like to play games and write/rant about them. Coincidence? I think not.
