It’s pretty obvious that UK’ers like ‘em some Call of Duty, what with the 2011 edition topping weekly charts for a couple of weeks after launch. Now, UKIE has released data of the best-selling games of 2011 in the country, and it was no surprise to see Modern Warfare 3 topping the list in All Formats, PS3 and Xbox 360.

What is surprising is Skyrim at no. 5. Number five. And it to make it more offensive, it’s below Zumba Fitness.

Modern Warfare 3′s triumph makes a hatrick for the series – Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops both had it made it as best sellers in their respective years.

“In a year when overall consumer spending was down, the launch of so many high-quality titles showed that there was still strength in the UK’s boxed-product games market,” said Jo Twist, CEO of UKIE. “However, whilst the boxed product market still remains a key revenue stream, digital is where much future growth lies and it is therefore vital that we understand the size of this market. ”
