Half Life 3 references found in CS:GO files
Oh gawd, here we go again.
A part of me doesn’t want to bother with this at all. But then…it is Half Life 3, after all. So we shall run this, anyway.
A reddit user has discovered various files in the upcoming Counter Strike: Global Offensive that refers to you-know-who. I will let him explain the complexity of it all (spoilers below!):
In the post-it note on the bottom left of the third one, it says ‘September 19th’
Gordon’s face appears in the top middle of this one Well at least a guy with glasses. I might be reading too much into this. Seriously Valve?
There is a guy holding a gun under the word Elevator, apparently named Carl.
There is a sign post with 3 points on it in the bottom-left on this one Correction: this is the baton of the security guard or cop that is called Carl, see above.
The number 6172010 is in the middle of this one. GothicFighter suggested over on/r/halflife that this may be the last day of E3 from 2010. Ummm… ? Well, the date is true for sure. His original post here.
It says “Bugs fixed: 3″.
This one, the E3 date one, says ‘Priority – ship patch’. These textures are supposed to represent a fictional airline or supplies company, yet why would they use the term ‘patch’.
The numbers 917 and 91 are specifically circled. Tenuous I know. Any ideas?
The number 3 is the only one not crossed out in the middle of this one.
All the images are pasted below.
Valve recently said that all of Half Life 3 rumors were just “the community trolling the community nothing more.” The above find could just be reading too much between the lines. Developers are known to reference their own games, and this could be nothing more than that.
We hope not.
