MEGamers Editor’s Choice – Game of the Year 2011 Awards

Drum roll, please.

Bastion
Supergiant’s action-RPG is the perfect poster boy of the ‘indie scene’. It’s popularity and success has proven that, to make a great game takes not wizardly marketing plans and insane pile of money, just a drop of sheer passion, a little bit of creativity, and a healthy dose of heart. Bastion’s beautifully hand-drawn visuals, swooning musical score, and a deep multi-layered story telling is the stuff of the triple-As, and it’s funny that its quality is not even matched by those that are. For $15, this relatively tiny action-RPG kicks the greedy $60 titles straight below the belt.
Runner’s up: Limbo, Trine 2.
