The private Starhawk beta will keep on running through the remaining days of 2011 and end up on January 3, Sony Santa Monica has announced.

According to the developer, the gathered information provided by players throughout the whole period involved testing the sci-fi war game, has been “incredibly valuable”.

“It’s been a wild, wild ride and we want to thank ALL the participants that took time out of their schedule to help us test Starhawk. We’ve learned an enormous amount and have applied much of it already. We’ve still got a long way to go but the leg up this info has provided us is incredibly valuable,” senior producer Harvard Bonin wrote on the official PS Blog.

Marking the end of the private beta means that the studio is finally ready to lift the wraps on its public equivalent. While no exact date was disclosed, owners of Uncharted 3 are guaranteed to hop into the online testing in “the next few weeks”.

Other than his excessively biased enthusiasm toward gaming, and technology behind the whole industry, there's a huge fondness inside that drives him nuts to pick up his keyboard and start writing for the love of it.
