TOKYO GAME SHOW 2009 over a four-day period from Thursday, September 24 to Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Makuhari Messe in Mihama-ku, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. As in the previous two years, the first two days will be ‘business days’ while the latter two will be open to the general public.

TOKYO GAME SHOW 2008 featured an impressive total of 1,768 booths, which even surpassed the record set by the 2007 show. A total of 879 titles were exhibited, another record, truly reflecting the active endeavors of the game industry to further expand the market.
Despite the sagging global economy, it is not only games market that is thriving today, but also the entire computer entertainment market. From this strong foundation, TOKYO GAME SHOW 2009 aims to provide people all over the world with a wide variety of the very latest information on games while further expanding the market both domestically and internationally.
In the sincere hope that games will cheer up and re-energized the world, “Game, it’s so energetic!” has been chosen as this year’s concept.
This year’s show will also focus on these three objectives:
- To act as a hub for up-to-the-minute information
- To enhance the business side of the event and further internationalize it in terms of media appeal, visitors and exhibitors
- To cater more to new and light game users.
To meet these objectives, the organizers are now steadily making preparations. They include the installment of a new “Advanced Mobile & PC Area,” and the enhancement of press release distribution services in Europe and America.
