PS3 is lead platform for Metal Gear Rising, says Platinum
Lead development switched from Xbox 360 to avoid Bayonetta mistakes.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is being developed from the ground-up with PlayStation 3’s hardware in mind as lead platform, Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba has revealed.
Inaba broke down the bit of info following yesterday’s documentary clip, which highlighted the game’s development process. Taking it to Twitter, Inaba said, “So, in closing, Metal Gear Rising’s lead platform is also PlayStation 3.”
Following the infamously criticized PS3 version of Bayonetta, which suffered from severe technical issues, Platinum Games jumped ship from using Microsoft’s console as lead platform over to the PlayStation 3, starting with SEGA’s Vanquish as well as the upcoming Anarchy Reigns.
The revived Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is due out next year for PS3 and Xbox 360.
