Rumor: Bulletstorm studio developing Gears of War prequel trilogy
People Can Fly reportedly handling new iterations.
We already knew the Gears of War franchise will carry on, and latest reports from OXM US suggests that People Can Fly, the folks known best for their work on Bulletstorm, are actually making a trilogy of prequels for the Epic series.
Sited in the rumors section of the mag’s latest issue, the report reads, “Gears of War will live on, of course, but in what form? A prequel trilogy developed by Epic-owned People Can Fly (Bulletstorm) as a likely scenario.”
The story of the franchise was wrapped up with the critically well-received September outing in Gears of War 3. Seeing a twisted series of prequels made by Epic’s own People Can Fly infers the potential of another five years in Xbox 360′s lifetime, of course having that the rumor is correct, and Epic along with Microsoft plans to keep the franchise on the current platform.
