DICE unleashed some shock-and-awe over the weekend, banning “hundreds” of users for cheating in Battlefield 3.

“This week we’ve banned hundreds of offending accounts and have stats-wiped accounts for exploiting (such as boosting),” the developer said in a tweet.

If you are unaware of the multiplayer lingo, ‘boosting’ is a way to improve in-game score by, in this case, exploiting a glitch. Players found such a glitch with the Engineer’s repair tool which allowed them to garner thousands of points in a single match.

DICE has also asked help from users in catching such exploiters. In a tweet, it has requested players to report cheating or boosting by sending them a direct message @Battlefield on Twitter along with a screen shot of the Battle Log Report.
