John Carmack, the under-fire captain of the id ship, has said the development studio is working on a new patch for Rage that should, hopefully, fix the game’s most pressing problem: blurry textures.

To do that, the patch will add two new options: bicubic up-sampling and texture detail, the former of which just boomeranged above our heads.

“We have a bicubic-upsample+detail texture option for the next PC patch that will help alleviate the blurry textures in Rage,” Carmack tweeted.

PC players have raged over id for shipping copies plagued with performance issues of all kinds. But rather than brushing it off, id, and Carmack for that matter, have been active, and admitting, over the issue, which is a plus. The studio already has a patch out that fixes many of the performance troubles, including fixing Vsync and texture loading. Better grab than before you delve deeper into the post-apocalyptic desert.
