Long-rumored featured outed by Australian mag.
Update: BioWare has now officially confirmed the news. “There will be a multiplayer component for#ME3. Full details soon, so wait until then before making your decision. We think you’ll like it!”. Well, there we go. The comments made on our E3 report are now an interesting read, don’t you think?
Original story: Multiplayer, an often long-rumored feature for Mass Effect 3, has been officially confirmed.
The info was bound to slip in upcoming issue of Australian mag, PC Powerplay. However, they rather announced the series’ debut feature on their website, alongside a cover of the impending issue teasing for the first official multiplayer details.
“That’s right – Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer!” reads the mag. “We travel to BioWare’s office in Edmonton for hands-on time with the series’ first foray into online gameplay, and chat with Mass Effect Series Producer and Mass Effect 3 Project Director Casey Hudson about the decision to go multiplayer in the epic battle for the galaxy.”
“Fight alongside your friends as the galaxy goes to war!” reads the magazine’s headline.
Mass Effect 3, the trilogy’s finale, received a series of rumors regarding a mode BioWare wasn’t opting to implement in previous installments. Specifically, when MEG’s industry sources proclaimed the feature, saying Mass Effect 3 will ship with typical multiplayer types such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, in addition to a Horde mode.
Mass Effect 3 is due out on March 6 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
