Atlus’ beat ’em up title The King of Fighters XIII has been delayed.

Originally due out in October, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 brawler is now pegged for a solid North American outing of November 22; Europe will get it sometime in November.

The main reason behind the date shift is to ensure the game will ship at its finest condition, Atlus has noted.

“While fans will initially be disappointed by the news that The King of Fighters 13 is slightly delayed, the additional time will ensure that the game delivers on its promise of becoming the finest entry in the series’ 15+ year history,” explained Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Atlus.

“KOF fans have tremendous expectations for this title, as do we. Our commitment is to nothing less than the very best The King of Fighters game ever, and all of our efforts and resources are dedicated to assisting developer SNK Playmore to that end.”
