Wolfenstein 3D Coming To XBLA & PSN
Pioneer first person shooter to enter next-gen consoles.
id Software’s classic Wolfenstein 3D, considered by many as the pioneer in first person shooter, is making a comeback via the next-gen consoles on the Xbox Live Arcade and PSN stores. The title was spotted on the ESRB listings, which is increasing becoming a breeding ground for arcade title leaks. Adding another bout of confirmation was the official Xbox site listing of the title.
The news is that Wolfenstein 3D will be developed by Nerve Software, who were also responsible for bringing another of id’s classic, Doom, to the online arcade stores. This is clearly a part of the campaign to promote the upcoming first person shooter Wolfenstein from Activision and Raven Software, which is expected to hit retail this year for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
