Square Enix has revealed during Sony’s TGS press conference that Final Fantasy X, one of the most celebrated entries in the franchise’s history, will be making its way onto both Sony platforms – PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.

Of course, the game won’t be a straight-up PS2 port, with the PS3 and Vita remake benefiting from an HD makeover. Square’s Shinji Hashimoto describes the surprise as a “special 10th anniversary production”.

No other info was disclosed – there’s neither gameplay footage nor screenshots to go by, but it’s been said that both PS3 and Vita iterations should be comparable in visual perspective. With that being aforesaid, hopefully that means someday in our lifetime, we can witness the infamous FFVII remake?
