Super Monkey Ball coming to PS Vita
Will take advantage of the device’s “unique” capabilities.
SEGA has lifted the wraps off a PS Vita iteration of its popular arcade platformer, Super Monkey Ball, disclosing a release window of early 2012.
Developed with the new handheld’s pioneering bells and whistles in mind, Super Monkey Ball is said to offer full-blown new worlds alongside heaps of crammed mini-games, including a revamped version of the famous ‘Monkey Target’ and a host of “exciting” new stuff.
Of course, the handheld release will benefit from Vita’s horsepower, with SEGA promising better visuals than previous installments. There’s also a multiplayer mode that supports up to four-players across Wi-Fi.
“Super Monkey Ball on PlayStation Vita is a great opportunity to experience the exciting features that the PlayStation Vita offers, and the SEGA development team are bringing a exciting new experience whilst staying true to the franchise” said Gary Knight of SEGA Europe and America.
