Also Persona 5 plans essentially confirmed.
Latest issue of Japan’s most-famous gaming publication Famitsu has confirmed that Atlus is all gearing up to bring a remake of Persona 4 for Sony’s forthcoming handheld, PS Vita.
To be re-titled as Persona 4: The Golden, the revamped PlayStation 2 RPG will bring a host of new additions that should delight fans of the beloved franchise, including female newcomer Marie, additional voiceovers, fresh cutscenes, an anime opening cinematic featuring music from composer Shoji Meguro, in addition to the ability to call out for help during dungeon battles.
The Vita remake will hit Japan in spring 2012, and will make use of Wi-Fi and 3G.
Moreover, a 2D fighting spinoff from the Persona universe is inbound to PS3 and Xbox 360 in summer 2012. It’s a collaboration project between the team responsible for fighting series BlazBlue, Arc System Works, and Atlus. The game is called Persona The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena – it takes place two months following the events of Persona 4, and features familiar faces from both Persona 3 & 4.
Finally, Atlus dropped few crumbs of info about the long-awaited Persona 5, revealing that preparations to start working on the fifth entry are all set, with no other info being shared at the moment.
