Dragon Quest X announced for Wii, Wii U
It’s an online RPG, though.
Square Enix has confirmed that Dragon Quest X is coming for both Wii and Wii U.
As reported by Andriasang, the announcement took place during a special Dragon Quest conference held in Japan.
The classic RPG, however, will make its comeback as an online role-player, and as detailed by Square Enix, the game is developed internally for the first time.
Not much will change from an artistic perspective – series’ fans can expect Yuji Hori, Koichi Sugiyama and Akira Toriyama all making their return with each of his role as designer, composer and character designer, respectively.
Dragon Quest X will feature cross platform compatibility between the two Nintendo consoles, with obvious advantage given to the Wii U version with better graphics.
Currently scheduled for a 2012 release, Square Enix is said to beta test the online RPG sometime before it comes out.
