Mann Co and Sarif Industries partners up to create exclusive TF 2 augments
New weapons, fist and goggles.
Valve has found a new way to make pre-orders on Steam even more tempting – by make game-specific items up grabs on its free-to-play multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2. After Left 4 Dead 2, Fallout: New Vefas, Quake 4, Rift and Brink, Deus Ex: Human Revolution too joins the list, thanks to a suspicious partnership between Mann Co and Sarif Industries.
Called the ‘Deus Ex Manno-Technology’ bundle, the pack offers player eight in-game items for whoever pre-orders the game before August 23rd (US release date, it’s 26th for PAL).
The Sniper gets The Machina sniper rifle which does 15% more damage and penetrate players, but can’t be fired when zoomed and gives away his position with tracer rounds. The Spy gets The Diamonback pistol which earns him one critical shot for every building destroyed, but does 15% less damage and removes any random critical hits. The Engineer is showered with two items – The Widowmaker, a shotgun that uses 60 metal per shot for 100% damage and removes reloading; and The Short Circuit, a pistol replacement that fires an electric field that damages projectiles and players but gobbles 35 metal per shot and removes random critical hits.
There are four cosmetic items as well, namely a Purify Fist for the Heavy, Deus Specs, The Nanobalaclava helmet, and The Company Man cap.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is on pre-order on Steam for $44.99, a 10% off from the usual price of $49.99.
