Activision has confirmed that its PC release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will indeed support dedicated servers – an option that was ditched from previous outing, Modern Warfare 2.

The info comes from associate manager for Call of Duty Digital, Jay Frechette, who unveiled the existence of the much-demanded PC feature during Gamescom; to be reiterated later by Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling, who wrote on his Twitter account.

“Yes! Modern Warfare 3 on PC will support dedicated servers, day 1. You can fav or admin your own to control setup, rules, bans.”

PC gamers might till this day remember the rather community stir caused by Infinity Ward’s decision to remove dedicated servers from Modern Warfare 2, so this should be a good news, nonetheless.

Modern Warfare 3 is due out in November.

Other than his excessively biased enthusiasm toward gaming, and technology behind the whole industry, there's a huge fondness inside that drives him nuts to pick up his keyboard and start writing for the love of it.
