Modern Warfare 3 coming to DS as well
n-space roped in once again.
Activision confirmed yesterday that they will be bringing Modern Warfare 3 to the Nintendo DS as well. A Wii version was confirmed earlier last week.
The handheld version will be developed by n-space, who were also responsible for other COD ports. The game will be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance.
“They’ve done the handheld editions of COD4:MW, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops [pictured], and World at War, among many other DS games. So, the DS version is also in expert hands,” said Activision social media manager Dan Amrich.
The announcement lead many to question why the publisher chose to snub the newer console, the 3DS.
n-space clarified on its official Facebook page that it had no role in deciding which version was to be made. They were just carrying out orders.
“You guys all need to understand that we make the games we are hired to make,” it said. “It is not our call to decide which platforms to support. Obviously we are big 3DS fans and supporters as we have 3 titles in development. If it were as simple as us choosing what products and platforms to develop for I would get a lot more sleep.”
