Vita can be used as a PS3 controller

Sony confirmed at a recent Develop event that the Playstation Vita could be used as a PS3 controller, ala Wii U.
According to R&D manager Phil Rogers, the Vita can display ‘data’ sent through by the PS3, and also use its gyroscope and touch panels to control a PS3 game, as well.
“PS3 can send data down to Vita and Vita can display it. You could use the unique features – gyroscope, touch front and back – as a control device for a PS3 game.
“You can run software on both devices and use the network to sync the game states. And that’s pretty good, because you then have the processing power of PS3 doing that work, Vita [doing] fancy graphics – however you want to do it. You’re not sacrificing the PS3′s CPU to be able to have a rich experience on Vita.”
Rogers said the Remote Play feature will be shipped from day one, allowing developers to retroactively add in support for Vita into their PS3 games. One of the first games to use the cross-platform feature will be Hustle Kings.
Playstation Vita was rumored for a October 28 release earlier today. The new handheld system will retail at AED 1000 for the WiFi model, and at AED 1300 for the 3G + WiFi model, in the UAE.
