Microsoft looking to bring free-to-play system to Xbox 360

Talks with developers already underway.
According to sources close to Develop, Microsoft is apparently building relationships with developers to bring a free-to-play (F2P) system on its Xbox 360 console.
The report claims that Microsoft is, behind the scenes, calling developers to discuss the model. Much like other F2P games, the concept will be to monetize the game with in-game items and upgrade packs.
The sources say that the Xbox 360 operating system will incorporate a micro-transactions service where in-game items can be purchased for Microsoft Points on the fly.
Recently, Valve made its massively popular online game Team Fortress 2 free-to-play, bringing the potentially lucrative video game model into the lime light.
