E3 ’11: Ubisoft unveils new exclusive IP for Nintendo’s Wii U, gets debut teaser
‘Killer Freaks from Outer Space’ invades new Nintendo platform.
Ubisoft’s lifted the lid on a new IP titled ‘Killer Freaks from Outer Space’, an exclusive Wii U first-person shooter.
Developed by Ubisoft Montpelier, Killer Freaks is a sci-fi shooter set in the outskirts of London – where, as the bizarre title suggests, furious and vicious hordes of Killer Freaks from Outer Space invade the planet.
The developer promises a “revolutionary new first person shooter” experience in the Wii U exclusive.
Players will control one of the world’s last survivors and must capture the Killer Freaks “to determine who will rule the earth,” according to publisher Ubisoft.
Ubisoft also seems sure that the new Wii U shooter will please core gamers.
“When Nintendo launches a new console, it’s always a big milestone for the industry and a great opportunity for creativity,” said Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot.
“Killer Freaks will make the most of all the fantastic capabilities of the Wii U and provide hardcore players with a gaming experience like no other they have seen or played before.”
Killer Freaks from Outer Space is out in 2012, sometime around the console’s launch.
