When Sony announced the Playstation Vita, two worries arose in the minds of gamers: First, will they have to break their fixed deposit to afford it? And second,  will they be able secretly buy niche Japanese titles? Sony calmed one worry at its E3 presser by announcing that the WiFi-only model will retail at $249, tightly pricing it against Nintendo 3DS and wholly affordable if they saved up for two months. However, the second worry loomed large like falling axe…until now, of course – and it’s good news.

According to VP of Sony Worldwide Studios Europe Michael Denny, the PSVita will be region free…to the best of his knowledge. That is, if Mr. Denny’s knowledge is sound enough, gamers will be to purchase games from multiple regions and play it on systems of another region. This is in line with PS3, and should bring a sigh of relief for Playstation fans. Unknown Japanese RPGs, here we come!
