Nintendo’s handheld console will edge out PSP to be the top seller in Japan this year, according to the research report.
Despite it’s moderate start at retail, Nintendo 3DS is looking to be the top selling handheld console in the country, a report by Enterbrain suggests.
According to the report, the 3DS is expected to sell 2,868,000 units by the end of the year. The expected sales will edge out PSP by 49,000, which will slot to the second position with 2,378,000 units sold.
To achieve the target, the 3DS has to sell 58,499 units per week for the rest of the year.
Enterbrain expects hardware sales to be around 9,925,000 units this year, and 8,408,000 units in 2012 – a slump despite with two biggies, NGP and Project Cafe, nearing release.
