Rumor: Project Cafe controller to have front facing camera
Camera to be used for in-game purposes.
According to a new set of rumors, the controller for Project Cafe, Nintendo’s new and soon to be revealed home console, will apparently have a front facing camera.
A source close to Develop said that one of the uses of the front-facing camera will be to snap player pictures for in-game images, ala 3D/S.
The source also speculated that the Nintendo 3DS could be used a replacement controller for the home console, though he wasn’t completely sure about it.
“The functions are the same,” the source said. “It is a standard wireless controller added with a front-facing camera and touch screen. That sounds far too much like a 3DS to me. But I can’t confirm this, Nintendo is being very cautious about the details.”
The controller will, however, have a 6″ touch-screen, according to the source, with a possibility of a stylus.
Project Cafe is all set to be revealed at next month’s E3.
