Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata admitted during a press conference in Japan, that the current hardware of the Wii has lost the power to surprise people, and hence the need for a new console.
“It became difficult for developers to surprise customers with the current Wii,” he said, according to Andriasang.
During the conference, Iwata also dropped a launch window for the next Wii, saying that the new console must only be expected after its current fiscal year ends, which is April 2012.
