Capcom has sent out via Facebook a new artwork for its newly unveiled Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which shows an uptight major plot twist in the RE franchise.

The published image shows non-other than Leon S. Kennedy being brutally murdered and ripped apart by the hooded Vector while other members of the Umbrella team are fending off the undead swarm.

Confiscating a key member in the Resident Evil universe will likely to alter the plot drastically in the franchise, although what makes things even more confusing is that Raccoon City takes a place way before the settings of RE4, where Leon himself picks up the lead in the story. We should know soon if Capcom is playing a sort of time paradox trick on our minds.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City releases this winter for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
