Valve has announced that its effort to raise money for the Red Cross in Japan has met with tremendous success.

Several days ago, the Half Life makers had released three exclusive in-game character hats for Team Fortress 2, encouraging players to purchase the hats and chip in to the relief fund. One of the hats cost $100.

On Friday, Valve said that it had managed to raise $430, 543.65 for the relief fund. That’s a lot selling hats! Congratulations to everyone who managed to score of one the special edition hats and help the cause.
