Capcom producer Masachika Kawata has confirmed that a playable demo of Slant Six Games’ Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be available at this year’s E3 event in June.

Kawata also revealed that Operation Raccoon City is currently 45 percent completed and a release date is planned for early 2012. Until then, Capcom will also proclaim further more details about the main characters, including classic enemies and creatures that will most likely be featured from older Resident Evil titles.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a spin-off of the series itself – it goes back to the period of Resident Evil 2 & 3. The story is told here from a retro perspective, which could change the entire Resident Evil story.
