Spider-Man: Edge of Time announced
Get a hold of Amazing Spider-Man and Spider Man 2099 this autumn from the Shattered Dimensions dev.
Marvel Entertainment and Activision has announced plans for a new title in the Spider-Man franchise which goes by the name of Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Currently being developed by Beenox Studios, the team responsible for the previous swing in the Marvel superhero franchise, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
Scheduled for autumn release for unspecified platforms, Edge of Time is said to be “focused, action-packed adventure” and is set in two “connected and evolving timelines,”
Spider-Man: Edge of Time sees you taking control of the classic Amazing Spider-Man, as well as the futuristic Spider-Man 2099, allowing players to control both of the characters in order to “correct a timestream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future brought on by the early and untimely death of Peter Parker.”
“Beenox is once again taking a fresh and different approach to bring a fast-paced and high-octane adventure and unexpected story to life in Spider-Man: Edge of Time.” said global brand management director, Vicharin Vadakan.
“At Beenox, we are constantly listening to the fans and looking for new and creative ways to innovate the gameplay experience for them,” said studio boss Dee Brown.
“We want to create a totally distinct experience in Spider-Man: Edge of Time by working with Peter David on the story and creating this urgent, high-stakes experience where time is working against you and the fate of Spider-Man hangs in the balance.”
The game is expected to make its first appearance at Wondercon 2011 in San Francisco, so first details and platform confirmation info are expected to roll soon.
