Sony’s corporate communications manager J.T. Tidwell dispatched some intriguing info and statistics about the 3D support planned for this year for Sony’s home console, the PlayStation 3.

Tidwell stated on the official PSBlog that almost 30 Stereoscopic 3D titles will be shipped for the PS3 by the end of 2011. A graphic was posted on the site highlighting some of the major 3D content available and coming in 2011 for the PS3, including games such as Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, MLB 11: The Show, SOCOM 4: US Navy Seals and Motorstorm: Apocalypse.

Gamers aren’t the only ones beset by 3D treatment. Tons of Blu-Ray movies will make it in 3D as well, including the latest Sports Illustrated Swim Suit 2011: The 3D Experience, which was plagued by 83,000 hits within the first week.

Still content requires the right gear to be viewed in Stereoscopic 3D. Let’s see if Sony’s strategies will help boost the technology forward in the industry, and in turn waves a price drop of current available 3D-TVs.

Other than his excessively biased enthusiasm toward gaming, and technology behind the whole industry, there's a huge fondness inside that drives him nuts to pick up his keyboard and start writing for the love of it.
