My reaction is

In a hazy little room in a popular cafe in Dubai, EA and Grayling Momentum (PR representatives) organized a casual hands-on event for the press to try out Crytek’s anticipated shooter Crysis 2. Half expecting to see the Xbox 360 version, my radar sprung to life when it detected a PS3 lying on a bunch of chairs. Ahh, the PS3 version finally!

Abdul Karim, our main man from Grayling, showcased a part of the single player demo, which he says is the very first levels of the game. He claims to have perfected the short demo, but as you can see from the initial video, that’s far from the truth. Not all of the videos has him playing, there were some good players among us too, so here they are. We tried to avoid any spoilers, so the gameplay footage are from different (and random) parts of the first level.

Our hands-on with the demo will be up soon; however, visually speaking – leave no doubts, the PS3 version looks spectacular and on par with anything you have seen on the platform. The frame rates are below 30 for the most part but the engine does well to not be a major issue during firefights. Of course, this is an early build of the game, so expect bugs and glitches to be ironed out in the retail version.

Two more videos in the next page.

early build it may be, but it still looks great.

thanks for this, i’ve been on the fence about getting it from a lack of ps3 footage and becasue of the article IGN did slating the ps3 version.

Keep in mind that the build IGN played wasn’t the retail build, nor is the one on here, just saying.

Hi thanks for posting this, alot of us been wondering how will the SP portio of Crysis 2 will look like and this footage gives us some hope. I am sure the visual glitches are because of older build and frame rate low being unoptimized. So it looks just as good as the 360 huh?

no because xbox 360 isnt having these problems im a ps3 user and I have to say the xbox 360 version is clearly the better version no popins it isnt sub hd like the ps3 version and the framerate is solid

      • Anonymous

Popins can be results from an older build, also 360 does have Sub-hd 1152X something from the demo.

Certainly the Xbox version is better, because, of course, we have all played both first-hand by now. So we are clearly in the position to make such judgments.

        Clearly.

Xbox 360 version is sub hd as well. you fool..

And LoT alread did a comparison to Killzone two and said that the Killzone Two looks better.

Also, not only xbox 360 Sub hd, it has some serious pop ins… you obviously have not played the demo.

  • Chencho Manopla

    Looks better than gayzone 3

Have you actually played killzone 3? The game looks phenomenal. I was fortunate enough to check out some of the code at the foster city sony offices and god almighty did they do a great job with their streaming tech. Something I expect BF3 to take to the next level.
