A website called ‘Find Makarov’ has appeared online suggests that Activision will reveal a new Modern Warfare title next week at Game Developers Conference.

The homepage contains a big clock counting down at under five days from now, apparently, which sets it well in line with GDC.  In addition, That VideoGame Blog claims that press have been sent dog tags with a link to the website ‘’. The tags include a message that reads “end the war” along with details on General Shepherd, the villain from Modern Warfare 2.

It’s been long rumored that Sledgehammer, Infinity Ward and Raven Software are working together on Activision’s next juggernaut. Reports suggested last week that a Modern Warfare 2 prequel is in development, starring mystery masked man, Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley.

Apparently the entire thing is a hoax. Activision confirmed to IGN that the website and the promotional material sent to websites do not come from them. Activision also denied if they were going to reveal a game on Wednesday at GDC.

“There seems to be a great deal of speculation about the next Call of Duty project. Let me be clear that we are not revealing yet. Anything indicating otherwise is a hoax,” said the publisher to IGN.

Other than his excessively biased enthusiasm toward gaming, and technology behind the whole industry, there's a huge fondness inside that drives him nuts to pick up his keyboard and start writing for the love of it.
