Namco reveals new Ridge Racer
Namco Bandai unveils Ridge Racer Unbounded. The arcade-racer is due out next year for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Ridge Racer Unbounded is the new official name of the next arcade-racer in the long lasting franchise.
Namco Bandai has unveiled Unbounded for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. There’s little to no solid info about the new Ridge Racer except that Bugbear Entertainment, the Finnish developer behind the destructive FlatOut is working on it. VP of marketing Carlson Choi describes it as “very different from the Ridge Racer you’ve come to know.”
Namco put out a pre-rendered teaser trailer showing Ridge Racer’s infamous mascot Reiko hopping from a car to a different one. Reiko starts up the new engine and gusts insanely onto a busy intersection tearing down vehicles causing major devastation in the process (inspired by Criterion’s Burnout, probably?).
Ridge Racer Unbounded is set to release sometime in 2012. Have a look at the debut trailer below.
