Activision has joined Sony’s Next Generation Portable festival this morning, among other third-party titles coming to the new handheld. The publisher confirmed that Call of Duty is headed to Sony’s PSP2, or NGP as the platform holder has it codenamed.

While no specific details were cited, Activision’s Philip Earl said, “We believe that NGP will change the way people play games on the go, and what better way to prove that, than with Call of Duty.” He added, “We believe Calll of Duty for NGP will set the bar for the next generation of portable gaming.”

Call of Duty accompanies an already announced renowned list of games for the new device, such as Uncharted, Killzone, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet and Wipeout.

Other than his excessively biased enthusiasm toward gaming, and technology behind the whole industry, there's a huge fondness inside that drives him nuts to pick up his keyboard and start writing for the love of it.

I found on this Modern Warfare 3 website that Olin confirmed Treyarch would not be developing Call of Duty NGP. Quoting they have no time to work on it. I guess the team is busy at work on Black Ops. I wonder if Sledgehammer will pick the game up.
