Leaked slides hint at spring launch for ‘Tegra 2 3D’ chips
1.2 GHz ‘Tegra 2 3D’ processor supposedly set for ‘spring 2011′ release.
Just as we were getting used to the idea of the multi-core computing on our mobile devices NVIDIA ups the ante yet again on their Tegra line. This time with what appears to be the ‘Tegra 2 3D’. This 1.2 GHz chip will seemingly bridge the gap between the Tegra 2 and the Tegra 3 but with improved 3D processing capabilities and by the looks of it this new processor is set to be mass produced within the first quarter of 2011.
Evidently Nintendo’s 3DS has set the ball rolling for what is sure to be a year packed with plenty of 3D capable mobile devices and even the most staunch supporters of the 2D world can’t help but take notice at this growing trend. 3D displays aside it sure is comforting to know that NVIDIA is really going all in with their Tegra line.
Who knows, Quad core mobile processors by years end?
