Super Street Fighter IV finally coming to PC?
Capcom USA’s Vice president explains how Super Street Fighter IV PC is still a possibility.
Capcom released Street Fighter IV on all platforms, including the PC back in 2009. The fighting game had a critical success and proved how the genre could work pretty well on the PC. Unfortunately, PC gamers didn’t get a taste of Capcom’s latest fighting title Super Street Fighter IV where it released on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 only.
One of the main reasons to blame why Super Street Fighter IV still hasn’t come to the PC yet is the raging piracy in the platform.
In a new “Ask Capcom” video chat, Capcom’s U.S. Vice-president of Stratetgic Planning & Business Development, Christian Svensson, answered several questions from the company’s fans. And when asked about Super Street Fighter’s fate on the PC, here’s what he had to say:
“I think the guys that read [Capcom-Unity forum thread] ‘Ask Capcom’ frequently know that I am a die-hard, die-hard PC gamer and I’ve continued to push for the existence of a Street Fighter IV PC.
“I’ve always said the answer is ‘no’ until it becomes ‘yes,’ and let’s just say I’ve not given up pushing, and maybe at some point in the future we could change that question to ‘Why did it take so long…’ instead of ‘Why is there no…’ Unfortunately, we can’t do that yet, but I’m still cautiously optimistic.”
