Epic Mickey will come to PS3, says analyst
Would make use of the PlayStation Move.
Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has said he believes Junction Point’s Disney Epic Mickey will eventually get a PlayStation 3 release.
Speaking on his weekly GameTrailers show “Pach-Attack!”, Pachter said the game, currently exclusive to the Wii, would work perfectly well with the PlayStation Move. However, the analyst is unsure how feasible it would be to port it to the PS3, given the game’s standard-definition visuals.
“I’m sure Sony is talking to them [Disney Interactive] right now,” he said. “The problem is upscaling Epic Mickey because it’s not made in 1080p, it’s made for the Wii so I’m not sure [if] they can go ahead and port the game.
“I think a lot of the gameplay mechanics would work but they’re going to have to build it from the ground up to make it work on PS3.”
Pachter is adamant that the game will make its way to the PS3, even possibly, as a downloadable PSN title.
“It will ultimately come there. Maybe they’ll do it as a Playstation Network game for a lot less money but they’ll have to wait a few years until the Wii version runs its course to get away with lower graphics.”
