Kinect selling twice as fast as Apple iPad
We have a new ‘fastest selling device’.
Kinect sold 2.5 million in 25 days, that we know. Even though that is an incredible number on its own, let’s put it into a finer perspective by comparing to another best seller, the Apple iPad.
The iPad managed to sell, now, ‘only’ 2 million units in 2 months whereas Kinect has far surpassed those numbers within a month. That’s 100,000 units sold every day. That is incredible in a whole new sense. According to Readwriteweb, it means that Microsoft has handily snatched the ‘fastest selling gadget’ title from Apple with its motion-powered device.
While Kinect has received mixed reviews, and it may not yet be perfect for 1:1 video gaming, Microsoft clearly has a bumper on their hands. With the technology opened up, which we hope Microsoft will do soon, Kinect holds the potential to change our working dynamics greatly.
