GTA V likely to release in 2012 – Analyst
Max Payne 3 expected in the next 15 months.
According to Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey, it’s “likely” we won’t see the next Grand Theft Auto title until publisher Take-Two’s fiscal year of 2012, which runs from April 2012 until March 2013.
Unsurprisingly, when it does release, Hickey expects GTA V (or whatever it will be called) to sell more than 16 million copies and generate $750 million.
Little is known about the next GTA title, although they were rumours earlier in the year that it will be set in Hollywood.
Hickey added that the other most likely title to be released in Take-Two’s financial 2012 is BioShock Infinite. He predicts that will sell around 4 million units. In the meantime, Hickey believes Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire, along with Duke Nukem Forever, will head up the publisher’s fiscal year of 2011 (April 2011-March 2012).
