Joining the massive list of banned games in the region such as Mafia II, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and Red Dead Redemption is Capcom’s recently out zombie gore-fest Dead Rising 2.

There is no official word from the UAE National Media Council, but according to an official at Pluto Games, the local distributor for Capcom, the game was met with a ban due to “violence, gambling and nudity”. Another possible reason could be the ‘use of alcohol’ as mentioned in the ESRB ratings.

The official says that the distributor is trying to get the game unbanned but “looks unlikely”.

I know u may hate me for what I am saying , but I am going to say it any way . Companies are cashing in here in the middle east with out even doing anything for us , so by knowing that UAE cares about games makes me support them in cases that helps in getting special edtions of games ( no nudity) or getting the Arabic language in the games .

As an adult, I can decide what I want to watch, read and play and what I am happy exposing my kids to. The state can keep its fingers away.

A bit of nipple and ZOMG! BAN IT! Someone getting shot in the face, PG12. They need a sense of perspective anyway.

red dead was banned before but later was lifted

I think it's better to ban those games in official stores where kids or young gamers buy their games. But if you are a serious gamer, you know what to do.

They're banning games, And they are trying to ban the most used messenger service (Blackberry) but they didn't ban movies which contain heavy nudity content. Why ?
