Dead Rising 2 banned in the UAE
By Mufaddal Fakhruddin on September 27, 2010
Capcom’s zombie-slaying adventure bites the dust as well.
Joining the massive list of banned games in the region such as Mafia II, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and Red Dead Redemption is Capcom’s recently out zombie gore-fest Dead Rising 2.
There is no official word from the UAE National Media Council, but according to an official at Pluto Games, the local distributor for Capcom, the game was met with a ban due to “violence, gambling and nudity”. Another possible reason could be the ‘use of alcohol’ as mentioned in the ESRB ratings.
The official says that the distributor is trying to get the game unbanned but “looks unlikely”.
